Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is coming up, so everyone, please do the following list on Thanksgiving day:
1. Go outside and walk around in the road acting like a turkey while yelling, "GOBBLE, GOBBLE!"
2. Make up a Thanksgiving Acrostic Poem. (T is for Talking, H is for Hot bread, A is for...)
3. Make a list of all the things you are thankful for.

Chaper 2...
Here is the second chapter of my story.
CHAPTER II
Dez was shocked at the comment. She had nothing to say.
“Did I say it wrong?” Mrs. Stevens asked. Dez couldn’t say anything. Her eyes welling up with tears, but she held them in.
“Get out. Now…GET OUT!” Dez screamed through gritted teeth. Her mother was struck and raced out the door, slamming it behind her.
How could Dez live? Wait, she couldn’t live. She’d see Geinna, and Jessica, the traitors. If she had to, she’d skip all the other three years of high school and help keep her dad in health. She wanted to be a doctor, anyways! Or she could go live in Germany with Abby! At least she’d be happy then. As long as she didn’t have to go to that agonizing jail again. Memories will haunt her mind, and she’d be bullied by all of the seniors. She couldn’t go. She just couldn’t. Dez buried her face in her feather pillow and cried for what seemed like days.
She was startled with a beep. “Abby…” She mumbled to herself, got up, and sat at the computer. She clicked on the BigAbs167 icon and typed:
DezzyBear108: hey abz, how are u?
BigAbs167: apparently, not so good. u?
DezzyBear108: definite not so good. guess wut
BigAbs167: wut
DezzyBear108: im going back 2 school again
BigAbs167: ☹ o no! now wut r u going 2 do
DezzyBear108: WHAT? DO YOU THINK I AM ACTUALLY GOING TO GO TO THAT AGONIZING JAIL AGAIN? ☹
BigAbs167: signed off at 6:07 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15th, 2007.
“Dez? Your father and I are going out for dinner! The twins are at a sleepover, so you’re home alone, okay? Emergency numbers are on the fridge, salmon is in the freezer, Mrs. Roth, our next-door neighbor, said you’re welcome to stay at her place. And can you clean the house? It’s just a little…untidy. We’ll be back around ten-ish, okay? Bye, honey! …………Your dad wants you to come and say good bye!” Her mother called.
Eyes still a little puffy from her previous crying stock, she slowly slumped down the stairs. She hugged her parents, and clambered up to her room, to read her book, The Tales of Justine Couldaldi. She opened it up.
Edward Stolie is the best writer ever! Dez thought to herself. She turned to the page that she had dog-eared the last time she read: yesterday, to page 89. But she couldn’t focus reading the first line: Justine crawled, danced, and swayed for the goblin, named Heirlosophent, (she figured out his name in a picture) hoping to be released from his tightening clutch.
She decided it was useless: She went over to the computer and waited for Abby to sign on. Finally, after ten minutes of waiting, some one signed on. It wasn’t someone she knew, but yet, the username was AmIYourFriend101. She clicked on it. A conversation popped up.
AmIYourFriend101: Hi. What is your name?
DezzyBear108: do I no u?
AmIYourFriend101: You know me, but yet, you don’t. Your dreams have told you, but you can’t seem to tag along. What you really need is me. You must trust. Trust is something that you must trust. Believe. Don’t leave. Come on. This is the end. Wait for it to come. Or should I say, “Wait for him to come.”
Dez stepped away from the computer. AmIYourFriend101 started sending other things.
AmIYourFriend101: Excuse me, when I say something, I like being answered. By the way, where are you right now?
AmIYourFriend101: Why aren’t you answering?
Dez had already sped down stairs to the phone. She grabbed it, but some one was on the other phone in the house. She gulped. This had never happened before. She slowly and quietly unlocked the front door and ran outside to Mrs. Roth’s house.
Once she had shut the door she ran along the pavement. And that was when she saw it: The red-hot, shiny convertible parked on the side of the driveway. She ignored it and ran until her legs cramped up. Then, she noticed that she had already passed Mrs. Roth’s house.
Dez retraced her steps. She was back in her driveway. The red car was gone. She ran into Mrs. Roth’s driveway, shot up the steps, and pounded on the door. Drips of sweat trickled down her red cheeks.
“Dezzy! Hello! I didn’t expect you to come, I thought you were responsible enough…Well, come in, come in!” Mrs. Roth invited her in.
“I know this was very unexpected,” Dez said as she sat down on Mrs. Roth’s cushiony chair, “but I have something to tell you.”
“Um, sorry. Can I interrupt? Do you want a drink? You look exhausted. Cream and sugar? Hot lemonade with honey? Hot cocoa…what do you want?” Mrs. Roth offered.
“Um…I’ll take some milk with ice and honey.” Dez replied.
There was silence in the house. Dez forgot to speak. She continued on with her story. “So, I was on AOL, and a message popped up. I clicked on it. And someone was saying, “Where are you? What is your name, all that stuff. So, I crept down the stairs to call my mom on the phone. But someone was on the other phone in the house. I ran out the front door as soon as I could. When I got outside, a car was parked in my driveway. So I just came here. Now, I’m out of breath.”
“Oh, honey, I am so sorry. Here’s your drink. I never knew this could happen!” There was a long silence. Until, after 5 minutes or so, a crash came from the front room. Dez gasped and looked at Mrs. Roth. She was on the floor, apparently she had fainted. Dez started choking up. Her eyes filled with tears. Footsteps were headed this way. This is it. It’s the end, she thought to herself. A face appeared out of the shadows. Dez screamed and ran as fast as she could.

Writer's Showcase--A First
Here is a little bit of my latest piece:
CHAPTER I
August 15th, 2007
ONCE UPON A TIME…those were the first words I learned. It wasn’t the usual: goo-goo or gah-gah. I was different from all the other babies: Two beautiful, different-colored eyes, one, a sparkling blue, the other, a washed-out gray. My parents named me Deziree because they thought the name was “unique”, and unlike anything else. (Pronunciation: Dez-erh-RAY) When I was born, I didn’t cry. I didn’t cry until I was seven months old. I was born at 12:00 sharp: midnight.
My parents didn’t tell me any of this information until I was seven, when I could “understand” it.
I’m only writing this dumb stuff because this is the first journal I’ve kept. I’m 15, and I haven’t even written a single letter in a journal that I could call my own.
I’m home-schooled--never had any friends in my life—except two: Jessica and Geinna. We were inseparable—until they both joined the cheerleading clique at school. I couldn’t join because the captain wouldn’t let someone with glasses on the team—thought I’d make them “look” bad. Who cares about looks? What do people have against glasses, anyway? Apparently everything.
But that was when I went to school. When my parents finally noticed that I had never invited a single soul over to our house for three years, they got suspicious—started home-schooling me…Uh, the laundry. G2g, bye!
“Deziree, could you put the darks into the dryer, please, and put the whites in the washer?” Mrs. Stevens asked her daughter.
“Mom, don’t worry. I’ll do it in a jiffy.” Dez said half-heartedly. When she was done, she headed up to her room to go on AIM and see if her cousin, Abby, was on. Abby was probably the closest thing to a friend that Dez had, though she lived on the other end of the world.
She scrolled down her buddy list, though she only had seven people on it—Mom, Dad, Abby, her sister: Isabel, her other sister: Kristine, and Grandma. Luckily, Abby was on. She clicked on her name and typed some messages.
DezzyBear108: hey abster ya on???
BigAbs167: hey dez. how u doing? anything major happened? i know that i haaaave 2 tell u something!!
DezzyBear108: WELLLLLLLLLLLL…so far living w/out u right next 2 me itz been prettttty harddd…hows Germany?
BigAbs167: hard. I havnt even gotten used 2 the language after a year!!! Peeps just come right up to me and say ‘ey chong joque totani???’
DezzyBear108: o. well interpretation, please! wut did u have 2 tell me???
BigAbs167: well u probly wont want 2 no….
DezzyBear108: oopss…thatz my mom calling me. g2g. have fun in germany! ☺ luvz! <3

Footsteps. That’s all that Dez heard, other than the twittering of the annoying bluebirds outside her window, the neighbor’s lawn mower (These were the neighbors that bought Abby’s house), and the screaming of Dez’s twin sisters, Isabel and Kristine. She stuffed her journal under her bed, clambered under the covers, and smiled at her mom as she walked in.
“Honey…um…” Mrs. Stevens started.
“Yes?” Dez replied.
“Well, please don’t get mad at me, but, your father is having hard times with his health right now.”
“He is...what’s the point, here?”
“No more home schooling.”
“Really? Are you sure? So, you mean that I don’t have school tomorrow? Yes! Thank you, Mom! I knew that you would think that I lived up to the expectations!” Dez trampled her mother in a giant bear hug.
“Honey, I mean, no more home schooling for the rest of your life.”
CHAPTER I
August 15th, 2007
ONCE UPON A TIME…those were the first words I learned. It wasn’t the usual: goo-goo or gah-gah. I was different from all the other babies: Two beautiful, different-colored eyes, one, a sparkling blue, the other, a washed-out gray. My parents named me Deziree because they thought the name was “unique”, and unlike anything else. (Pronunciation: Dez-erh-RAY) When I was born, I didn’t cry. I didn’t cry until I was seven months old. I was born at 12:00 sharp: midnight.
My parents didn’t tell me any of this information until I was seven, when I could “understand” it.
I’m only writing this dumb stuff because this is the first journal I’ve kept. I’m 15, and I haven’t even written a single letter in a journal that I could call my own.
I’m home-schooled--never had any friends in my life—except two: Jessica and Geinna. We were inseparable—until they both joined the cheerleading clique at school. I couldn’t join because the captain wouldn’t let someone with glasses on the team—thought I’d make them “look” bad. Who cares about looks? What do people have against glasses, anyway? Apparently everything.
But that was when I went to school. When my parents finally noticed that I had never invited a single soul over to our house for three years, they got suspicious—started home-schooling me…Uh, the laundry. G2g, bye!
“Deziree, could you put the darks into the dryer, please, and put the whites in the washer?” Mrs. Stevens asked her daughter.
“Mom, don’t worry. I’ll do it in a jiffy.” Dez said half-heartedly. When she was done, she headed up to her room to go on AIM and see if her cousin, Abby, was on. Abby was probably the closest thing to a friend that Dez had, though she lived on the other end of the world.
She scrolled down her buddy list, though she only had seven people on it—Mom, Dad, Abby, her sister: Isabel, her other sister: Kristine, and Grandma. Luckily, Abby was on. She clicked on her name and typed some messages.

BigAbs167: hey dez. how u doing? anything major happened? i know that i haaaave 2 tell u something!!
DezzyBear108: WELLLLLLLLLLLL…so far living w/out u right next 2 me itz been prettttty harddd…hows Germany?

Party Page: Boys
BOYS PARTY PAGE
Pirates of the Carribean Party
Invites: Type party info on a piece of paper in a fancy pirate font and rip the edges. Roll up and put in an empty root beer bottle. Send in the mail.
As everyone is arriving: Play the game where everyone gets a character from Pirates of the Carribean on their back. They must ask yes or no questions to figure out their character. Ex: Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, Commodore, Davey Jones, Bootstarp Bill, Governor (Elizabeth's dad), Calypso, etc.
Play Yo- Ho Chairs: Musical chairs, except with Pirates of the Carribean music
Play some regular games
Favors: In a bag, put bottlecaps candy and some regular candy. Make sure to send your thank- you cards!

Party Page: Girls
Beach (Sleepover) Party!!
Invitations: Get a plastic bag. Put a 1-inch line of cinnamon on the bottom. Then put a piece of paper inside the bag explaining the party so they can see the invitation.
When everybody is arriving: Play volleyball in the back yard
After everyone arrives: Make fruity lemonade and put tiny umbrellas in the drink
Ha: Lay a blanket down. Have everyone's head on someone else's stomach. One person starts off by saying "ha" one time. The next says "ha" twice, etc.
Shell Collector: Before the party, you hide shells around the house. In 'Shell Collector', Everyone tries to find shells hidden around the house. The person with the most wins.
Fort: Use blankets and chairs to make a "Beach Hangout". Lay towels on the ground for people to sit on. Eat some food: Crackers, sub sandwiches, or any other beachy foods.
Pesky Little Seagulls: Everyone runs around with toy food, except two girls: the 'sea gulls'. The have beaks (orange paper cups with strings attached) on their head.The 'sea gulls' try and tag people. Once tagged, their food is taken away and they sit down. The last person standing wins and is one of the next seagulls.
When you go To Bed: Play some regular games and watch a movie.
When you wake up: Have choc. chip pancakes
While waiting for parents: Play some other fun games
Back To School Party
1. Everybody is arriving, and they are all having "recess" (Lay a jumprope, a basketball, and other outdoor game stuff in the driveway/front yard) in the front yard.
2. After 15 minutes, the bell rings. (Parent comes out and rings the bell) Everybody has to get the family room and sits downbefore it stops ringing. Whoever doesn't gets a "time out" for 5 minutes. (A place where you can play board games or others)
3. Teacher Dress-up: Get some dress-up clothes and dress up as teachers. Have "the best teacher imitation" award.
4. "Lunch"
6. "Recess"
7. Teach the guests the following song: (sung to tune of "Down by the bay")
I went to school (echo)
It was not cool (echo)
It had no pool (echo)
My teacher drools! (echo)
For if I don't (echo)
My teacher will say (echo)
"You better do your work,
Or your brain will start to lurch,"
